Editorial policy

How we create content

All content on weightlossmeds.com.au is written by our editorial team and reviewed by our medical advisory board before publication. We source information from Australian regulatory bodies (TGA, PBAC), peer-reviewed clinical trials, and established medical references.

Medical review

Every medication guide, comparison page, and clinical guide is reviewed by at least one AHPRA-registered medical practitioner. Reviews check for clinical accuracy, appropriate context, and responsible health communication.

Updates

We review and update all content regularly. Medication pages and pricing data are checked at least monthly. When significant changes occur (PBS listings, TGA approvals, drug discontinuations), we update affected pages within 24 hours where possible.

Each page displays a "last updated" date so you can see how current the information is.

Editorial independence

Our editorial content is independent of our commercial relationships. Telehealth providers featured on this site do not pay for editorial coverage or influence our reviews. Our recommendations are based on publicly available information, pricing data, and our assessment of the provider's service.

Corrections

If you identify an error or outdated information on any page, please contact us at hello@weightlossmeds.com.au. We take accuracy seriously and will investigate and correct any verified errors promptly.

Our sources

All clinical content is sourced from the following hierarchy of evidence:

  1. Primary sources: TGA product information, PBAC public summary documents, published clinical trial results (STEP, SURMOUNT, SELECT, COR programmes)
  2. Regulatory bodies: TGA, PBAC, NPS MedicineWise, Australian Prescriber, Healthdirect
  3. Peer-reviewed literature: Published in journals indexed by PubMed
  4. Provider information: Pricing and service details verified directly with providers or through their public-facing websites

We do not use social media posts, unverified forum claims, or provider marketing materials as primary sources for clinical information.

What we don't do

  • We don't provide medical advice — our content is educational and informational
  • We don't recommend specific medications to individual readers — that's your doctor's role
  • We don't accept payment from pharmaceutical companies for editorial coverage
  • We don't publish sponsored content without clear disclosure
